Coffee, Coffee, Coffee

A U.S. Army Soldier sleeps, while the first pot of coffee of the day brews, on Combat Outpost Cherkatah, in Khowst province, Afghanistan, Nov. 27, 2009. The Soldier is deployed with Delta Company, 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry (Airborne), 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Andrew Smith/Released.

Every new medical unit I connect with gets an email offering a list of supplies that Soldier's Angels can provide. The list is long, and runs the gamut from socks, to snacks, to First Response Backpacks, to coffee. EVERY unit requests coffee, and plenty of it. I remember from me own days in the Army that it ran on caffeine, and it seems that's one thing that has not changed.

We're fortunate to get lots and lots of coffee donated from the good folks at Green Bean, Borders Bookstores, Seattle's Best and others. BUT, the thing the units also ask for is coffee pots, coffee grinders and creamers/sweeteners.

We at Soldiers Angels are always looking for donors to purchase a coffee pot for us to stock in our warehouse and ship overseas when the requests come in.

Here's a link to our shopping list on Amazon where you can donate a pot. OR you can can always contact me directly and I'll give you the address of a combat support hospital or Aid Station to mail one to.

Thanks!
