CHRISTMAS ON THE WAY
Every Christmas, the American people remember our troops and get ready to send lots of Holiday cheer. This isn't new, of course. Here's a picture of Christmas mail on the way to our guys in the Pacific in 1944.
Every year, Soldier's Angels launches a major effort to send some Holiday cheer to our troops overseas. Called "Holidays for Heroes", it involves hundreds of volunteers who put in thousands of hours collecting, fund-rasing, packing and shipping all kinds of goodies to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This year, I am happy to say that we shipped Christmas trees, decorations, video games, DVD's, CD's and presents to every one of the 40+ medical units I work with. Here are just a few pictures....
We were also approached by volunteers who shipped hundreds of boxes of donations, thousands of presents and piles of Holiday cards to our troops. I had at least a dozen schools, scout troops, youth groups, families and churches contact us who sent homemade cards. These are the best...and read more about them at the "Cards from Kids" post.
Merry Christmas, and thank you to everyone who helped make this holiday season just a little bit easier for our soldiers who are so far from home, keeping us safe.
God bless us, every one. And keep them safe until they all come home.
